Profhilo

Profhilo is essentially a hyaluronic acid (HA) moisturiser, which when injected spreads in the dermis giving long lasting results and younger looking skin. This is the ideal treatment for when we start to lose a significant amount of collagen and elastin, usually from age 35-40.

Profhilo contains 100% synthetic hyaluronic acid (HA) to rehydrate and plump the skin. It can dramatically reduce fine lines and remodel sagging and ageing skin.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in the body that is responsible for maintaining moisture within our skin. Profhilo® has been specially formulated to encourage the natural production of collagen and elastin in the skin. It lasts in the skin for around 28 days and during this time it stimulates the production of four different types of collagens and elastin. Within the first few weeks you will see intense hydration, glowing skin and fine lines can disappear. You skin will feel smoother and tighter. Profhilo is not a volumising treatment so in that way it’s different to dermal fillers.

Profhilo is a skin booster, so it is recommended to have 2 treatments 4-6 weeks apart, then a top up treatment every 4-6 months. It is mostly used for facial areas including the top of the cheeks, nasolabial folds, mouth and chin but can also effectively be used for rejuvenating the neck, décolletage, arms, knees and back of the hands. It is a very versatile treatment that can be combined with other aesthetic treatments to achieve maximum effects.

Profhilo involves a series of intradermal injections on different points and is generally not a painful treatment. You may experience slight discomfort or stinging both during and for a day or so afterwards around the injection sites. There is the option to apply a topical anaesthetic prior to the treatment to minimise this. You may experience small lumps which look a little like a bee stings, around the injection sites. These can last up to 24-72 hours. There could also be some temporary redness, numbness, swelling or bruising.
